LEMALA
GAME REPORT
- 12 JULY 2011
Lemala Tarangire:
On 5th July around midnight, 2 leopards were involved in an intense
territorial battle near the staff tents. One of the male leopards has been a
regular visitor to the camp. The fight was so ferocious that the staff had
to shine a mag light onto the leopards to disperse them and stop them from
damaging some of the camp fixtures. This follows the remarkable leopard and
lion kills within 100 meters of the camp the previous week.
Lemala Ngorongoro
Another form of entertainment at the camp on 9th July as we had a lion
roaring at the Lemala Ngorongoro parking area around midnight. Last week we
had the leopard growling. Buffalo and elephants still passing by the camp.
Down on the crater floor, Lemala guests have seen tremendous amount of
wildlife with the highlights being a buffalo kill near Elerai forest and a
successful cheetah hunt that was eventually taken over by the hyenas.
